Pala's Featured Stones
In this months gem news we feature a pair of natural corundums from Asia. Complimentary colors with unique characteristics.
On the left we have a pink sapphire from Sri Lanka. A 5.73ct pure bubble gum pink that that was found to have no evidence of heat by AGL. A striking color simply labeled “Pink” by AGL, meaning they found no significant modifying color. We all fell in love with the stone in Tucson as it was such a vibrant and unique color, significant size, and a classic cushion cut.
On the right we have a ruby from Burma. A 4.42ct mix of red and pink that was also found to have no evidence of heat by AGL. An exceptional color labeled “Intense Pink-Red” meaning red dominant but a significant amount of pink as well. Some may say just enough red to be a ruby while others may say too pink to be a real ruby. What ever side of the line you roll on, the stone stands in the middle as a unique blend.

Sphene, Sphene and More Sphene!
Interested in sphene? We are your direct source from the Nyadire Mine in Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe. For the next couple of months we will have large quantities of gorgeous chrome sphene available. This material has been the best green sphene we have ever seen. Another great quality is that it is surprisingly clean! We are selling most of this material in rough parcels as we have more than we can cut. For those familiar with new finds, the best material comes and goes quickly - deposits dry up rather fast. Do not wait until it is all gone!
Please feel free to contact us if you would like to purchase some of these beauties.
